launch of the “AIS for Taxpayer” mobile application

The Annual Information Statement (AIS)/Taxpayer Information Summary (TIS) is a mobile app that the Income Tax Department has released under the name “AIS for Taxpayer” to make it easier for taxpayers to examine their information (TIS).

The Income Tax Department offers a mobile application called “AIS for Taxpayer” that can be downloaded for free from Google Play and the App Store. The app’s goal is to give the taxpayer a complete perspective of the AIS/TIS, which shows the data gathered from multiple sources on the taxpayer.

The mobile app allows taxpayers to examine the information from AIS/TIS that is available on TDS/TCS, interest, dividends, share transactions, tax payments, income tax refunds, and other information (GST Data, Foreign Remittances, etc.).

Also, the taxpayer has the choice and ability to offer input on the data shown by the app.

The taxpayer must register on the app by supplying their PAN number and authenticate using the OTP issued to their registered email and cellphone number on the e-filing portal in order to access this mobile app. The taxpayer can easily create a 4-digit PIN to access the mobile app after authentication.

This is another effort by the Income Tax Department to improve taxpayer services and make compliance simpler.
